Marguerite Kieninger

Artist Statement

The image Double Portrait is of my two friends and is part of a larger series from the Fall semester Photo 1 class. This series depicts me and my friends, it’s about what it’s like to be a young person, figuring out who we are, and how we spend our time. I think the series is important to me most because I know the story behind each photo and how it came to be, and I just hope it resonates with others in some way or at least entertains them.

Bio

Marguerite Kieninger's interest in photography started when she found a 35 mm camera at a thrift store. She liked photography before, but this was her first introduction to film photography. Since then, she's been photographing everything, particularly family, friends, and special occasions. Kieninger's first formal photography class was with Charly Earley this past semester, August 2024.
