Artist Statement

The two photographs that are being displayed were shot on a weekend trip I took with some friends of mine to the Grand Canyon. These particular photographs were shot in Sedona in the forest next to a stream. In taking the portraits, I did as little coaching and setup of the subject and scene as possible, the goal was to capture as real of an image as possible and to present their faces in their most vulnerable/natural state.

Bio

Jonah McCardell is a student at PCC who over the past two semesters has grown more and more interested with photography and is currently enrolled in two photography classes. Having had little to no experience with creating works of art, he has found himself truly inspired and motivated to explore ideas through both film and digital photography..
