PaperWorks sponsors two postcard exchanges for members annually, a Summer exchange (June - August), and a Winter exchange (December - February). Signups take place by email and in-person usually a month before the exchange. Participants make and send cards to three ‘secret pals’ whose names they will receive at the beginning of the exchange. The commitment is to send one card to each person - although of course you can mae and send as many as you want.

Cards can be any size, any medium, and any theme. Anything goes! Postcard making is a fun, low-risk activity even for those with ‘blank canvas anxiety.’ It’s a great way to experiment with new techniques or stick to familiar favorites.

You’ll take photos of the cards you’ve made before you send them. The month after the exchange ends, the PaperWorks meeting will feature a slideshow of the postcards that were sent, so all can admire and you can figure out who made the cards you received. Tjere will also be a physical display of the cards received. The artists who make them can sign them and you can sign the cards you made - and hopefully meet each other.
