Theme Description:
Beneath the Surface is the theme for Paperworks' 25th Anniversary Exhibition. Vera Gates, president of Paperworks, shares her poetic reflection on the theme:
"In the making of Art, there is the seen, the heard, the understood. And then there is the deep unknown. The magic… beneath the surface. An ancient well of wisdom. A way of being. Of wanting, needing, to create. To realize in some physical form that which lies embedded within us. We need not understand it. But it is essential to our being that we make. Something. Out of nothing. That we make art. In our own, precious way. I invite you to participate in this exhibition, to replenish your deep well of knowing, to refresh and to share, to reveal what waits for all of us, just Beneath the Surface."
– Vera Gates

Why Set Up A Gallery Page?
Some exhibit curators will be using our gallery for their jury process.Gallery pages are one place the Exhibits chair looks to see artists’ work. The Exhibits chair often uses the gallery artists pages to find artists willing to submit images for exhibits and promotional information. (flyers, evites and press.)All art media is acceptable on our PaperWorks gallery pages… in fact, a variety of media is most welcome! If you are a new Artist ready to go public, setting up a gallery page saves time and expense over setting up your own website.Your gallery page increases the overall quality of PW members and a professional presentation. Work from the gallery is used to highlight individual members’ artwork on our website homepage.
Are you a PaperWorks member? If you would like your original art to appear in the gallery, please fill out the form below and request your work be placed in the Gallery. Artists already in the Gallery are encouraged to submit recent work. Any type of art is appropriate for the Gallery, not just paper.
