Terence Leach
Artist Statement
I explore the space between observation and perception — where reality shifts, distorts, or reveals something unexpected. Working primarily in watercolor, I use transparency, layered color, and atmospheric effects to move beyond literal representation and into moments that feel remembered, imagined, or slightly unsettled.
I am drawn to the tension between the familiar and the strange, and to the quiet narratives that emerge when something appears just outside what we expect.
As a largely self-taught artist, I have developed personal approaches to watercolor that emphasize luminosity, flows, and expressive design. To create work that continues to reveal itself over time, inviting viewers to discover new meaning… is my hope.
