- Southshore - Lake Superior Scroll: 9" x 70" when unrolled
- The place represented in this scroll/book is a segment of the south shore of Lake Superior, where I grew up. It was there that I discovered the beauty and strength of nature, the amazing power of The Lake, the largest body of fresh water in the world. All life along its shore is affected by The Lake.
- The double scroll is an ancient book form, which I use here with a simple schematic "shore" line. As a child we drew maps in the damp earth with sticks and small stones for marking important places and special landmarks.

Artist Statement
I enjoy everything about making my books. There is challenge and joy in the creative act. I try to maintain a sense of play in my work, encouraged by my two young sons. Their influence is often found within the content of my handmade books, as I sometimes incorporate their drawings and messages.
Discovering hand-made books for me is a culmination of years of collage, mixed media and work in clay. I have found the book, in all its variety of forms, to be a most satisfying medium to work within.
