The artworks are taken from high altitude photos and re-created with my own artistic digital painting to make a new visual adventure.

Artist's Statement/Bio

Like many developments in the history of avant garde, artist's books have emerged from a variety of influences which established an aesthetic foundation for my work. If my expressive art forms push ideas just beyond habitual limits, it is because I have quintessentially, rather than incidentally, elevated the genre: Book As Art.

Weaving led me into tapestry weaving and teaching. I also took up ceramics, then paper making and marbling. When I left for Mexico, in 1980, I was teaching weaving and paper making. Then book binding caught my attention. When I came back from Mexico, in 1990, I continued the same things in Bisbee AZ. Then I moved back to California, went to China in, 2004, and taught Western Book Arts for a year. Then came to Tucson with the same schedule.

Now, after all these years, I have closed the door on book making and opened the door to painting once more... only in the 21st century way... digitally. It's such fun!

Back in the day I showed some of my paintings, but can't remember where or when. Now, my paintings have received accolades from friends and family, but I haven't yet shown them other than on my website.
